LACOSTE

In 1933 René Lacoste and André Gillier founded La chemise Lacoste. the same year they produced the tennis shirt Lacoste with the crocodile logo. in addition htey created shirts for golf and sailing, It was in 1951 when the color shirts were imported around the company, One year later the shirts were importer aroun the United States. Twelve years later, the company grew thanks to Bernard Lacoste, Ren's son, who took over the manegment of the company. 

At the end of the 70s lacoste reached its height of popularity i the USa. a decade later other products like shorts, permues and tennis shoes were introduced by the company. O twas in 2005 when the company was transferes to miche Lacoste, Bernard's brother. on the other hand, almost 50 milion shoes were sold in over 110 countries. 

In 2006 Bernard died. 

In recent years, Lacoste has introduced a home line of sheeting and towels. 

For or against animals?

At the moment, It0s ilegal in most countries to use animals for medical research, although there are arguments both for and against this topic.

One of the arguments for using animals for medical research is that I can help researchers to find drugs, treatments and deelop new ambitions to illneesses and cancer. Many medical treatments have been possible because of animals testing, so for this reason, scientsts and many people support this topic.

On the other hand, animals were killen or kept in captivity. they test more than two or threee experiments on the same animals. Nevertheless animals and humans are never exactly the same. For example, the reaction of a drug an animal body may not cause the same reaction a human body. It's unriable! This is why some people and I are against using animals for medical research.

All in all, I'm not in favor of researching using animals. I belive that we have the bests technology we've ever had and humans are intelligent enough to research and cure illnessses such as cancer.

Unit 2

Dear Marie,

I need a your advice because I met a boy in Escala two months ago and we started dating. He's gorgeous, romantic, friendly and he cares for me. But I believe that I am not in love with him and I think that we can't dating longer. If that happens I'll decieve him and I'll feel bad.

His name is Dean and is French but every year he goes on holidays to l'Escala. When we meet we laugh a lot and time flies when we are togehter. One day we went to the beach and we were diving, we saw a lot of fishes and both of us were having a great time. After that, we bought an ice cream. While we were eating it, he hinted that I like him, considering that he was saying to me beatiful things all the time.

I've been thinking a lot about that. He loves me but I'm not in love with him. I love him as a very good friend, because he'sa g reat person, but not as a boyfriend. Maybe I will tell him this but how can I preserve our friendship? What do you reckon?

My Dog My Hero (unit 1)

My grandmother ususally tells about the period when she was a teenager. I remember one that impressed me. 

In the fifties there weren't any gadgets and almost everybody worked the land all day. My grandmother had two sisters and one dog. 

One day she was ill and spent all day in bed. Her sisters worked the land too and her mother was in the kitchen. Before they went to the field, they used to milk cows. There wasn't any light and they took a candle. But they left it somewhere in the stables. Suddenly the dog started batking. My mother's grandmotehr thought her daughter fell out of her bed. She rushed upstairs and she saw my grandmother was sleeping. the dog continued barking! Oh dear! 

At night, before sleeping, she used to pray, and say: 

-"Thanks God for this dog." He saved my family! 

Sometimes we forget that animals have feelings and we don't have care of them. They can listen and see a lot of things that humans can't. That's the reason why I love animals and I'm sad when I see a cat or a dog in the street without any human.

Receta para convertir a Maléfica en una bruja buena

Maléfica, bruja de la bella durmiente, tiene un grave problema: nos ha encargado que la ayudamos a destruir su maldad. He aquí la receta para lograrlo. 

Ingredientes

- 700g de felicidad de los 7 enanitos

- 2 cucharadas de fuerza del lobo de los 3 cerditos

- Un pellizco de magia de Merlín 

- 500g de belleza de la ratita presumida

- 3 tazas de zumo de la manzana mágica de Blancanieves

Elaboración

Para empezar, eche en un cuenco 700 gramos de felicidad de los siete enanitos y bátalo a velocidad siete. Tenga cuidado de que no se derrame. Añada dos cucharadas de fuerza del lobo de los tres cerditos y hornéalo a temperatura 100 C unos veinte minutos. Espere unos minutos a que baje un poco la temperatura e incorpora un pellizco de magia de Merlín. 

Acto seguido, compruebe que ha quedado bien dulce y sabroso; de no ser así, programe diez minutos más en el horno a la misma temperatura. A continuación, trocee 500 gramos de belleza de la ratita presumida con tres tazas de la manzana de Blancanieves.  De esta manera, le dará un toque de consistencia a nuestra receta. Finalmente, vuelque la masa en el recipiente inicial. 

Se recomienda que mezcle con la espátula toda la masa final y disponga esta en un plato grande y hondo. 

Sugerencia: puede espolvorear la receta con azúcar del chocolate de Hansel y Gretel. 

Ya tenemos la elaboración hecha; solo falta servirle a la bruja y esperar a que sea de su gusto y, sobre todo ¡Que haga efecto!
